There are always sales and promotions going on for products online and offline, but there are certain times of the year when it is the best time to make a purchase for specific types of products, aside from major shopping “holidays” like the day after Christmas Day, Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
What are some good buys for the month of February?
Chocolate, steak and seafood are great buys post Valentine’s Day. You can get chocolate 75 to 90% off after the holiday has passed, as long as you don’t mind eating chocolate from decorated packaging. Steak and seafood go at lower rates soon after Valentine’s Day because the purchase of these tends to dip after that special day of the month is over.
If you are in the market for a big screen television now is a good time to get one. As long as you grab it before the Super Bowl, you will most likely get a pretty good deal. Many stores put up specials just before this event to get in extra sales before the new TV models start arriving in March. Plus, they figure, what guy wants to watch the end game on a small screen?
Digital cameras are good buys in February, as long as you are buying last season’s model. All of the new models come out in February and March and the older model prices are reduced to move them off the shelf to make room for the newer ones coming in.
Off-season products are great to buy because prices are dropped and you can get a better deal on things like motorcycles, boats and air conditioners.
If you want to get a head start on next year’s Valentine’s Day, you might consider shopping for decorations, cards and other themed items post-holiday as well. Just store them away for next year!
